This excitotoxin is linked to brain damage and certain neurological disorders, like lupus, MS, Alzheimer`s, Parkinson`s etc.

It can be found in salad dressing, canned soups and vegetables, potato chips, barbecue sauces, bouillon cubes and all sorts of processed foods.

  1. Artificial sweeteners:

All the types of artificial sweeteners are promoted to have zero calories, that`s why they are so popular. But in the same time they are very toxic and dangerous for the brain.

One of them is aspartame, a combination of chemicals like methanol, aspartic acid and phenylalanine, which can cause brain tumor when they break down.

  1. Processed sugar:

This very popular ingredient is very dangerous for our health in general. Consuming refined sugar is linked to many health conditions and one of them is brain damage.

Refined sugar suppresses BDNF, the hormone of growth which is very important for the brain. BDNF (brain derived neurotropic factor) stimulates new links between brain neurons which are crucial for the memory function.

Scientific research shows that low levels of BDNF in people with schizophrenia and depression, when combined with sugar, can make the condition even worse.

Processed sugar can also cause inflammations, problems with the digestive and immune system. If chronic, inflammation can increase the risk of depression and schizophrenia.
