15 ingredients in McDonald`s fries that are linked to Autoimmune disease, Brain Damage and Cancer!

The McDonald`s fast food brand is known and loved all around the globe. Especially the irresistible and tasty French- fries. But a recent research has discovered that they contain many different substances that can, directly or indirectly, serious health problem like: brain damage, autoimmune disease or cancer.

The researcher was the famous Mythbusters` host Grant Imahara, who visited the McDonald`s fry factory to see how the food is produced. Then he “reverse-engineered” the fries, which led to a discovery of these ingredients:

  • Potatoes
  • Canola and soybean oil
  • Hydrogenated oil
  • Citric acid
  • Dextrose
  • Hydrolyzed milk and wheat
  • Sodium acid pyro phosphate
  • Dimethylpolysiloxane
  • Natural beef flavor
  • Tertiary butylhydroquinone or TBHQ
  • Salt

The TBHQ compound is the most dangerous one, then the dimethylpolysiloxane and hydrogenated soybean oil. The TBHQ is also used as bio-diesel and in perfumes, and it`s added to food to prevent deterioration.

The dimethylpolysiloxane is used in hair conditioners and aquarium tank sealants. If it includes formaldehyde, it can cause cancer, brain damage, autoimmune disorders or allergies.

According to researched by the Brigham & Women`s Hospital in Boston and the Harvard School of Public Health, more than 100.000 deaths from cardiac arrest that occur each year in the USA could have been prevented if only people replaced the trans-fat with healthier ones.

This is the official statement from the McDonald`s company, after Grant`s shocking discovery:

“After we carefully listened to the complaints of our customers and determined the challenges we need to face, we`ve created an open communication line via our interactive online Q&A platform”.

This does not mean they plan to remove the dangerous ingredients from their food.
